Start with the output
Specify the finished dimensions, number of pages and intended use before exporting. A file that looks good on a screen may need adjustment for the physical format.
Keep the source files
Retain editable artwork, linked images and font information. A PDF can be useful for review, but source files may be needed when changes are requested.
Ask for the correct setup
Bleed, safe margins, colour settings and image resolution depend on the production specification. Request the relevant template instead of assuming a universal value.
Check the proof
Review spelling, contact details, page order, cut lines and variable information. Ask how colour and material will be assessed before approving production.
